Fast-rising Bulawayo artiste YungGlow Dzet has released a tribute single titled “Umhlabath’ Emhlabathini (RIP)”, dedicated to fallen heroes, heroines, and loved ones whose legacies continue to shape society.
The track, which features South African artiste Poplee, pays homage to several influential figures, including the late Cal Vin, Babongile Sikhonjwa, Moyoxide and legendary musician Oliver Mtukudzi, as well as South African Amapiano stars Mpura and Costa Titch.
Speaking about his latest release, YungGlow Dzet said the song carries deep meaning.
“Umhlabath’Emhlabathini (RIP) is more than just a song. It is a message of remembrance and honour. I wanted to pay tribute to the people who contributed greatly to our lives and to our genre, especially those who inspired us through music and culture. Even though they are gone, their influence remains alive through what they created,” he said.

He added that the visuals were intentionally crafted to reflect the importance of the individuals honoured in the project.
“We included visuals of people like Cal Vin, Babongile Sikhonjwa, Desire Moyoxide, Oliver Mtukudzi, Mpura and Costa Titch because these were pillars in their own right. They represented excellence, influence and passion. Since Amapiano is the heart of this project, it was important to acknowledge those who helped shape its identity,” he said.
Over the years, YungGlow Dzet has collaborated with notable names including Master Keyz, Mzet, Tooboi Major, Nhlanhla da Poet and Tshikiza. His growing catalogue includes Amapiano Republic: Days of Our Lives, Amapiano Republic 2: Moods & Swings EP, She My Girl, Mega, Abashwe and Ngithanda Wena.
He has also performed on major stages such as the Bulawayo Arts Festival, Yellow World Zimbabwe Key To The City Youth Arts Festival and the Pumula Royal Arts and Community Awards.
His efforts have earned him recognition, including the Best Alternative Artiste award at the 2025 PRACA Awards, alongside nominations for Best Upcoming Artiste and Best DJ Across All Genres.

Born Desire Dube on April 5, 2002, in Cowdray Park, Bulawayo, the 24-year-old musician, producer, songwriter and DJ has been carving out a name for himself within Zimbabwe’s Amapiano, house and gqom scenes under the LoxionTainment stable.
The second-born in a family of five, YungGlow Dzet said his musical journey was sparked by early exposure to studio production through his uncle.
“My love for music started when my uncle opened The Bryce Studios at his residence. Watching him work and seeing how music was created from scratch inspired me. That is where the dream was planted, and from that moment I knew I wanted to be part of the industry and create something meaningful of my own,” he said.
He attended Mkhithika Thebe Primary School before proceeding to Cowdray Park High School, where he further developed his creative skills.
“I started off making remixes, remakes and beat instrumentals because I wanted to understand the sound and the process behind it. Later on, I gained confidence to step behind the microphone as a performing artiste and that is when everything started taking shape,” he said.
