The chairman of the Open Committee Celestine Gadzikwa was happy for the commitment shown by several companies.
“We are very delighted for everyone who made this launch a success.

“The committee is overwhelmed with the way everything is progressing. This was an idea, which we held for quite some time and we are happy that we have finally made it.
“We can say the success rate so far is good and we can show up something for the effort that we are putting in.

“We would like to see an improvement in the three years that we will be working with the companies who came on board.
Zimbabwe Professional Golfers Union President Arkil Yousuf was a happy man.

“This is a good move especially for us golfers as we can now focus on our profession without having to think about sponsorship.
“I would like to thank all those who helped this to come true.

“It was very difficult for us to think of looking for sponsors while at the same time we would want to play the game.
“This gives us confidence and we should go from strength to strength. The tour would have not been successful without financial and moral support, which is important.

“To professional golfers, I now challenge each one of us to work hard. “I applaud you and the referees for doing a great job for us,” Yousuf said.
The golfer also took time to congratulate Shane Pringle who won the Open Classic. “To Pringle I say well done, that was very good golf and we would like to see more of this,” Yousuf said.
