PREPARATIONS for the Zanu PF 23rd Annual National People’s Conference are at an advanced stage with reports indicating that works have now reached close to 70 percent.
The conference will be held at Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) grounds from 12 to 17 October this year.
The party’s National Chairman and Minister of Defence, Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri who is leading the conference preparatory meeting at CUT today, said she was pleased by the progress made so far adding that this year’s event was going to present opportunities for implementation of party’s resolutions.
“I am pleased with the progress that has been made. Preparations have now surpassed the 70 percent mark, and the report presented by Mashonaland West has already received favourable consideration by the Politburo,” she said.
“The province has demonstrated outstanding leadership in resource mobilisation and has set a commendable example for the rest of the country.
“The focus this year is not only on adopting new resolutions but also on assessing the implementation of previous resolutions. Accountability remains central to the party’s programme of action.”
She rallied all committees to put hands on deck for the success of National People’s Conference.
“Every committee must execute its mandate diligently so that delegates are received in an organised and efficient manner. Let us continue working together in unity as we prepare to host a conference that reflects the values and vision of our party,” she said.
Cde Muchinguri-Kashiri is accompanied by several members of the ZANU PF Politburo, including National Treasurer Cde Patrick Chinamasa, Political Commissar Cde Munyaradzi Machacha and Secretary for Information and Publicity Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa.
