Zanu-PF geared for landslide victory

THE record turnout during the Zanu-PF primary elections is an indication that the party is more vibrant and geared for a landslide victory in the coming harmonised elections, Zanu-PF National Chairman Cde Simon Khaya Moyo said yesterday. In an interview from Harare, Cde Khaya who also leads the Zanu-PF National Election Directorate (NED) said the leadership was satisfied with the election outcome and commended party members for maintaining peace during the process.

“The moment of truth has come. The Zanu-PF primary elections have been concluded. As you may be aware the response by the electorate in all provinces was overwhelming with a number of constituencies registering over 10 000 votes,” said Cde Khaya Moyo.

“This has never happened in any primary election. It is a clear demonstration that Zanu-PF is a vibrant revolutionary party with a robust membership. It is crystal clear that the party is poised for a thunderous victory come harmonised elections.”
Cde Khaya Moyo said the primary elections were conducted in a free, fair, transparent and peaceful manner.

He commended party members and election supervisors at all levels for demonstrating maturity and discipline during the exercise.
Said Cde Khaya Moyo: “The directorates led from the front. I wish to emphasise that in Zanu-PF there are no losers in primary elections but there are only competitors who may reach the finishing line at a different time.

“We are one family in all our endeavours with a common goal and one destiny.He urged contestants who could not make it to rally behind the elected candidates and ensure that all party cadres win.

“Those elected to represent the party must ensure that they lodge their nomination papers with designated courts in their provinces tomorrow 28 June 2013 between 10am and 4pm without fail,” said Cde Khaya Moyo.
