Zanu PF Harare provincial chairman Cde Godwills Masimirembwa has challenged party district structures to intensify grassroots mobilisation, strengthen party structures and translate party programmes into tangible results through unity, discipline and effective leadership.

Addressing a Zanu PF inter-district meeting in Highfield Zone 2 yesterday, Cde Masimirembwa said strong grassroots structures were critical to transforming Harare into a stronghold of the revolutionary party.

“The strength of Zanu PF begins at the grassroots. Strong structures, disciplined leadership and united members will deliver a stronger Harare and a stronger Zimbabwe,” he said.

“The time for complacency is over. Every leader must work at the grassroots, strengthen cell structures, recruit new members and work tirelessly to reclaim every council and parliamentary seat.”

Cde Masimirembwa said reclaiming political leadership in Harare would create a stronger platform for accelerated development and improved service delivery, urging party leaders to remain committed to serving communities with dedication and integrity.

He said the party was auditing its district structures to ensure that its organisational systems remained functional and effective at every level.

Last month, Zanu PF held National Cell Day, an exercise aimed at recruiting new members and updating records of existing party members.

Cde Masimirembwa added that in Harare, people were overwhelmed by the wisdom and strategic thinking of President Mnangagwa and by his achievements in delivering on national objectives for the people.

“The people of Harare are saying that beyond 2030, we still need President Mnangagwa to remain very much part of the leadership of the party, Zanu PF itself.

“Through the exercise of party supremacy, the party will guide the nation moving forward,” he emphasised.

Cde Masimirembwa also commended President Mnangagwa for spearheading infrastructure development and implementing programmes aimed at improving the livelihoods of the people.

He cited initiatives such as the Emergency Road Rehabilitation Programme as evidence of the President’s commitment to national development and service delivery.
