Zanu-PF Johannesburg chapter to mobilise voters

for the revolutionary party in the next general election, expected next year.
Delivering his solidarity message during the Zanu-PF 12th Annual National People’s Conference at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) grounds on Friday, the district’s chairman, Cde Ndabezinhle Nyoni, said Zanu-PF was the only party that can provide solutions to the problems affecting thousands of Zimbabweans in the diaspora.
He said his district would do everything it could to lure Zimbabweans in South Africa to return home.
“We are committed to mobilise Zimbabweans in South Africa to return home and vote. Efforts are underway to win the youths through cyber space. We need to correct the distortion of our image by the Internet,” said Cde Nyoni.
“We owe no one an apology for supporting Zanu-PF. We have resolved to support the party under difficult circumstances and our loyalty to it remains unshaken.
“Zanu-PF is the only party with people-centred policies which have seen Zimbabweans becoming the owners of the means of production.”
He expressed concern at the negative portrayal of the revolutionary party’s image by the Western dominated international media and called for concerted effort towards promoting a good image of the party.
Cde Nyoni said the Johannesburg district believed that the next election should be won by the youth, as they were the future leaders of the country.
He also reiterated President Mugabe’s stance that homosexuality should not be condoned.
“We rally behind you in supporting President Mugabe on his position against gays and lesbians.
“We do not want homosexuality in Zimbabwe. We do not want our nation to be turned into Sodom and Gomorrha.”
Cde Violet Madzimbamuto, who was representing women’s organisations, paid tribute to President Mugabe saying the revolutionary leader has been instrumental in promoting the recognition of women and creating opportunities for them.
She affirmed the women organisations’ support for the candidature of President Mugabe in the next election.
Zimbabwe Ex-Political Prisoners, Detainees and Restrictees Association (ZEPPDRA) chairman Cde Victor Kuretu also affirmed his organisation’s strong support for President Mugabe.
“We as ZEPPDRA, endorse the candidature of President Mugabe in the forthcoming election. We are also fully behind the indigenisation programme, which is the fulfilment of our dreams,” said Cde Kuretu.
