ZANU PF National Secretary for Women’s Affairs in the Politburo, Cde Mabel Chinomona, today launched the Manicaland Women Empowerment Hatchery Project in Mutasa District.
Addressing party members at Kukwanisa Vocational Training Centre, Cde Chinomona, who is also President of the Senate, said the project seeks to empower women in the province through poultry production and entrepreneurship.
“We need to work together, leaving no one and no place behind, which is why we are empowering women through this hatchery project. By 2030, everyone should be living in a middle-income economy,” said Cde Chinomona.
The incubator hatches 3 600 chicks in 21 days, and will benefit women across Manicaland.
Cde Chinomona said the party has also distributed 5 000 chickens and 52 sewing machines to support the women empowerment drive in Manicaland.
“As women, you should have the means to bring food to the table and not just wait for your husband,” she said.
Manicaland Women’s League chairwoman, Cde Dorothy Mabika, thanked the party for the hatchery project, describing it as a step toward achieving Vision 2030, and driving economic growth in the province.
“This incubator is a game-changer for our women in Manicaland. Let us remain united and make the most of this project. Together, we can achieve great things, and improve our economic situation,” she said.
