The Zanu-PF Manicaland province political commissar for the youth league Cde Lovemore Chibvura yesterday said finger pointing and mudslinging must end and people must focus on strengthening the revolutionary party.
He dismissed the notion that Cde Mutasa was personally responsible for the loss suffered by the party in the last elections where Zanu-PF only managed six seats out of 26 parliamentary seats.

“We, the Zanu-PF party and all its organs, the Youth League, Women’s League, the National Consultative Assembly, the Central Committee, the Politburo and our affiliate organisations are equally responsible and should take collective responsibility for the loss suffered in any one of the provinces including but not limited to Manicaland.
“We therefore call on the party leadership at every level to immediately cease finger pointing and take responsibility for galvanising our movement going forward especially in anticipation of the harmonised elections which we have to win resoundingly,” Cde Chibvura said.
The youth wing said focus must also be on the implementation of empowerment policies and fighting the illegal western sanctions.
Zanu-PF last week dispatched a probe team to Manicaland recently to investigate the source of challenges bedeviling the province.
The team, led by Zanu-PF national chairman Cde Simon Khaya-Moyo, met all the structures of the party to get first hand information on developments there.
The team’s visit followed a petition to President Mugabe, who is the party’s President and First Secretary by a team from Manicaland province unhappy with the state of the party there.
Cde Khaya Moyo and his team, which comprised national political commissar Cde Webster Shamu, Cde Kembo Mohadi and Cde Mutasa, are expected to compile a report on their findings.
The report will be sent to the President and Politburo for recommendations.
The party has already restructured Bulawayo and after Manicaland it will move to Harare.
