THE ruling Zanu PF party in Mashonaland West Province has launched a campaign to cascade its 2025 National Conference resolutions to the grassroots, with the district leadership unanimously endorsing the document.

A central and urgent focus of this mobilisation is the party’s first resolution: the extension of President Mnangagwa’s term to 2030.

Senior party officials have confirmed that the legal process to effect the extension is targeted for completion by the Christmas holidays.

This weekend, members of Zanu PF inter-district committees convened across the province’s six administrative centres to receive feedback on the conference outcomes. At these meetings, the call for President Mnangagwa to continue leading the nation beyond his current term was resounding.

Addressing party members from four constituencies at the Zvimba inter-district meeting in Banket, Central Committee Member Cde Ziyambi Ziyambi, who is also the Minister of Justice and the party’s Politburo Secretary for Legal Affairs, emphasised the urgency of constitutional reforms.

“We are ready as the party to push ahead with President Mnangagwa’s term extension, and this has to be concluded before the Christmas holidays,” Cde Ziyambi stated.

The meeting was attended by Mashonaland West Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Marian Chombo, and National Women’s League Treasurer, Caroline Mugabe.

Cde Chombo praised President Mnangagwa’s leadership, highlighting economic policies that foster business growth and urging members to capitalise on these initiatives to achieve national prosperity by 2030.

In Chinhoyi, the Makonde inter-district meeting saw similar endorsements. Zanu PF Provincial Chairman Mary Mliswa-Chikoka charged district leaders with the critical task of disseminating the resolutions to every party member.

“The ruling party in the province is ready to initiate the legal process to extend President Mnangagwa’s term,” Cde Mliswa-Chikoka said.

She explained that the feedback meetings were essential, as the national conference was primarily attended by senior members, making grassroots cascading a priority.

Cde Mliswa-Chikoka, who also officiated at the Sanyati inter-district meeting in Kadoma, further called for unity and discipline within the party ranks.
