Zanu-PF MPs told to engage in constructive debates

business in Parliament resumes next week.

Parliament begins sitting next week following the official opening of the Fourth Session of the Seventh Parliament by President Mugabe last week.
Party chief whip Cde Joram Gumbo was speaking after a caucus at the Zanu-PF headquarters.

“It was a short meeting where we discussed various issues. As you know we are beginning a new session so we were taking stock of business in the previous session and the new session.
“We also talked about motions that were brought in the past like the one on POSA and Jomic that we believe are divisive and do not promote nation building.

“We believe opening old wounds will not help anyone so we encouraged MPs to come up with motions that promote nation building,” Cde Gumbo said.
He said it was not in the nation’s interest to keep on raising issues that open old wounds.

He said the MPs also discussed the motions they intend to move to come up with a common position.
President Mugabe outlined the legislative agenda for the forthcoming session that will see at least 16 Bills being brought to Parliament for debate.
