Zanu-PF primary polls on tomorrow

Harare Province will tomorrow conduct its primary elections to choose six candidates to represent the party in by-elections to be held on June 10 after the seats fell vacant following the recall of MDC-T legislators from Parliament last month.

The MDC-T recalled 21 legislators from Parliament and triggered by-elections in 17 of the constituencies.

Harare provincial chairman Cde Godwills Masimirembwa yesterday confirmed that Zanu-PF’s Commissariat Department had approved a list of candidates to take part in the primaries. In Highfield West, Cdes Emmanuel Juta, Psychology Maziwisa, Alexander Matafi, Regis Maguva and Norbert Chikumbo will battle it out for the right to represent the party.

Cdes Doubt Mhike, Pious Madzinga, Tawanda Musengi, Gladys Muvuti and Musafare Muchemwa will contest the primary election for Glen View South.

In Kuwadzana, the contest will be among Cdes Betty Kaseke, Lloyd Makuwe, Tauya Mauka and Joseph Mutezo. The primary election for Kambuzuma will be contested by Cde Tinashe Maduza, Samuel Mvurume, Samuel Chinyowa and Oliver Chidau.

In Dzivarasekwa, Cdes Omega Hungwe, Never Kowo, Francis Chanduru, William Muhipe and Tichaona Kapfunde will contest the primary elections.

The primary election for Harare East will be contested by Cdes Mavis Gumbo, Stalin Mau Mau, Chris Chuchu, Justice Zvandasara, Margaret Sithole, Milton Chaniwa and Terrence Mukupe.
