ZANU PF romped to victory in all three council by-elections held over the weekend in Ward 12, Mangwe, Ward 4, Gutu and Ward 21, Chimanimani.

The ruling party secured decisive victories in all three by-elections held over the weekend, due to sound policies put in place by the Second Republic.

Results announced by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission, confirmed that in Mangwe, Rural District Council, Matabeleland South, Zanu PF candidate Cde Benjamin Ndlovu emerged victorious in Ward 12, Zimnyama Small Scale by-elections after garnering 463 votes against an Independent candidate Tshaka Moyo, who got 137 votes.

The council seat was under the opposition for years.

Cde Ndlovu’s victory reflects the enduring legacy of unity, empowerment, and progress that Zanu PF continues to deliver across Matabeleland South.

In Ward 4, Gutu Rural District Council in Masvingo Province, the party’s candidate, Cde Tawanda Matare, won with 800 votes against an Independent candidate, Farai Manguwo, who got 53 votes.

In Chimanimani Rural District Ward 21 in Manicaland Province, which recorded a notable high voter turnout, Cde Chipo Hlerema romped to victory with 982 votes against National Consultative Assembly candidate Janet Chitendeva, who registered 93.

These results, particularly the strong performance in Chimanimani, highlight the positive impact of Zanu PF’s people-centred policies on citizens’ lives, as reflected in the party’s clean sweep of all three by-elections.
