Zanu-PF secretary for information and publicity Cde Rugare Gumbo has said the ruling party’s Midlands Province infighting has been solved. The squabbles saw the party’s Politburo suspending the provincial executive for close to four months. A Politburo directive saw a substantive executive installed. Addressing the Zanu-PF Midlands Women’s League provincial conference in Gweru at the weekend, Cde Gumbo said the province was now focusing on implementing the Zimbabwe Agenda for Sustainable Socio-Economic Transformation.
“Midlands supports the hierarchy of the party starting from the Presidium,” said Cde Gumbo. “We are very united and we will work together. We might have had challenges before, but that did not tear us apart.”
Cde Gumbo said the revolutionary party was working towards increasing the number of women in national and provincial main executives.
Zanu-PF Midlands Women’s League provincial chair Cde Ellina Shirichena called on Government to speed up revival of distressed industries and mines in the province.
