Zanu-PF UK-EU Youth League committed to development

Yeukai Tazira Herald Reporter
Zanu-PF United Kingdom-Europe Youth League is committed to the development of the country through Vision 2030.

The branch said it was supporting Vision 2030 by rolling out a programme of setting up orchards in high schools across Zimbabwe .

The programme will be officially launched during the Zanu-PF annual Conference at Goromonzi High School next month.

“Over and above, involving the school children in the planting, growing and caring of the fruit trees, the programme will include an entrepreneurship programme that will equip the pupils with knowledge of how to set up, market and run their own businesses,” read the circular.

“Once the fruits are ready for the market, the pupils will be able to sell them using the skills they would have acquired under the entrepreneurship program and use the funds to pay for their education and to establish businesses that they can continue to run after high school,” the circular read.

The youths said they have so far acquired at least 35 trees through contributions and encouraged all those that made pledges or contributions to honour them not later than the 30th of this month.

Zanu-PF deputy secretary for Youth Affairs Cde Lewis Matutu confirmed the development, saying the initiative will contribute to the economic development of the country .

“This is a good initiative from our comrades in the UK because they are contributing to the economic development of their country. Productivity must start in schools and tertiary institutions so that a culture of hard and honest work is encouraged at early ages,” he said.
