his party is willing to engage hostile nations that have imposed illegal sanctions on the country.
He, however, insists the illegal sanctions should be removed.
Cde Khaya Moyo says the party is willing to interact with progressive countries that do not interfere with Zimbabwe’s internal affairs. He said this when he met Swedish ambassador to Zimbabwe Anders Liden who had paid a courtesy call on him yesterday.
Ambassador Liden said Sweden was willing to strengthen relations between the two countries.

Sweden is one of the countries that imposed the embargo on the country.
“We agree that we must turn a new page. We can’t continue to live in the past. We can’t dwell on things which separate us after all we are one humanity,” Cde Khaya Moyo said.
“When we die we want to leave a legacy in which our children will interact well. You didn’t sign a form to be Swedish, neither did I sign a form to be Zimbabwean so I can’t be punished for being born in Zimbabwe.
“When God created us he gave us pieces of land where we are supposed to stay and I can’t understand why some people can’t stay where God has given them, instead they want the other part as well.”
Cde Khaya Moyo said the Zanu-PF Government was shocked to see Sweden being hoodwinked by Britain to impose the illegal sanctions on Zimbabwe when the two countries had enjoyed good relations since Zimbabwe’s liberation struggle.

He said Britain had used its bilateral dispute with Zimbabwe to deceive the European Union.
He paid tribute to Sweden for its role during the liberation struggle when it donated clothing and food for the liberation fighters.
Zanu-PF, said Cde Khaya Moyo, was now focusing on the elections, which he said would allow Zimbabweans an opportunity to choose a leadership of their choice.
“The inclusive Government has become a lame duck because the other half of Cabinet can travel anywhere they want while the other one is not allowed.
“Now as a party we want this inclusive Government to come to an end and we have told ourselves that we will liberate ourselves economically just like we liberated ourselves politically,” he said.
Cde Khaya Moyo confronted Ambassador Liden over his country’s funding of parties opposed to Zanu-PF. Ambassador Liden distanced his government from supporting specific parties and instead accused Zanu-PF officials of not wanting to engage Sweden.
“We want to see more contacts with people in your party. The MDC is willing to engage us but reaching out to your party has been a problem. I hope you will encourage the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to allow us to meet Zanu-PF ministers because it has been very difficult to do so,” he said.
