Zanu-PF youths say no to violence

The campaign was launched yesterday in Greendale following reports of mugging, house breaking and armed robberies by youths in most urban areas.

Zanu-PF Central Committee member, Cde Noah Mangondo said most youths who engage in acts of violence are drug and alcohol abusers, so the campaign was a way of curbing violence and other undesirable activities.

Cde Mangondo, who is also Roots in Zimbabwe Trust president, said they would create empowerment projects to benefit unemployed youths.

“We want to empower the youths by giving them something to do and thus mould them into better citizen,” he said.

Roots in Zimbabwe Trust administrative secretary, Miss Lorraine Phiri they had started working with youths in different areas to campaign against drug abuse and violence.

“We are working with Zanu-PF youths in different areas, to ensure that we attract youths who are likely to engage in acts of violence to stop drug and alcohol abuse.
“Violence usually follows after consuming such,” she said.
