IN a demonstration of unwavering commitment to strengthening party structures, the ZANU PF Youth Wing in Mgagao District, Gazaland in Highfield, Harare province, has announced that it will spearhead the construction of a new district office, which will serve as the heartbeat of the party in Zone 2.

The party offices will stand as a symbol of unity and organisational strength, housing all the party’s organs — the Main Wing, Women’s League, War Veterans and the Youth Wing.

It will feature four offices and a boardroom, providing a modern space for planning, mobilisation and coordination of party activities at the grassroots level.

Mgagao District Youth Chairperson, Cde Abide Chimhuva, said the initiative is a clear reflection of the Youth Wing’s role as the vanguard of the party and the defenders of its liberation ethos.

“As the Youth Wing, we see it as our duty to lead this project because we are the vanguard of the party. This office will not only serve as a home for the Youth Wing, but will unite the Main Wing, Women’s League, and War Veterans under one roof. It will be a fortress of unity and a beacon of strength for our Zone 2 structures,” Cde Chimhuva said.

The youth, Cde Chimhuva added, are determined to show leadership by mobilising resources and manpower for the project, underscoring their readiness to serve the party and the nation with loyalty and dedication.

Party members across the Gazaland area in Highfield have warmly welcomed the development, describing it as a landmark step in reinforcing ZANU PF’s presence in one of Harare’s most historic political strongholds. They said the project reflects the enduring spirit of sacrifice and service that has guided the party since the liberation struggle.

Harare Metropolitan Province Minister and ZANU PF Politburo Member, Cde Charles Tawengwa described the initiative as a milestone in consolidating ZANU PF’s legacy of grassroots empowerment and revolutionary continuity.

The name Mgagao holds deep significance in Zimbabwe’s liberation history. It was the site of a camp that trained ZANLA combatants in Tanzania and where the pivotal Mgagao Declaration was issued, proclaiming armed struggle as the necessary path to end colonial rule.
