THE Zanu-PF Bulawayo province’s youth league yesterday suspended its provincial youth chairman and secretary for administration. Zanu-PF central committee member Butholezwe Ngwenya announced the suspension of Cde Khumbulani Mpofu (provincial youth chairman) and Cde Cecilia Verenga (provincial youth secretary for administration) at Davies Hall.
He said media reports regarding earlier suspensions were unfounded. “Reports by ZiFm that the province has suspended Davis Muhambi (secretary for finance), Boniface Mutsure (secretary for commissariat) and Maqhawe Sibanda (secretary for transport and welfare) are null and void.
“The three are still part of the provincial executive members,” said Cde Ngwenya, addressing hundreds of party members and district chairpersons. He said Cdes Mpofu and Verenga would attend a disciplinary hearing sometime next year. Cde Ngwenya said Cde Anna Mokgohloa, has been appointed acting chairperson of the province.
Zanu-PF national secretary for youths Cde Pupurai Togarepi was yesterday unreachable for comment.
