ZANU PF Mashonaland East provincial chairperson Cde Daniel Garwe has implored supporters and members to mobilise more support for the party ahead of the local authority by-elections slated for July 26, 2025.
Cde Garwe made the call during the Provincial Executive Committee meeting (PEC) held in Marondera on Sunday.
He said the ruling party will definitely win in the by-elections and urged voters to come in their numbers to vote for the party’s candidates.
“I will be in Chivhu for a star rally on Monday (today) and I expect more people to come and support our candidate,” he said.
“On Wednesday this week, we will have a star rally in Marondera East Constituency, Ward 6, mobilising support ahead of the election day. I appeal to all of you, please be present for these events.
“As you are aware, Chikomba Ward 10 seat was occupied by an opposition, but we are going to reclaim it. It should be ours now. For the Marondera RDC Ward 6 seat, it belonged to ZANU PF and it should remain so.
“We are also having another by-election in Marondera Central’s Ward 9 and it was last won by the opposition but that is now history because we will win it back. All this calls for unity and hard work. Already the party executive is working around the clock to ensure these seats are won by ZANU PF.”
Cde Garwe said all the recent by-elections held across the country were won by Zanu PF.
“It will be disappointing for us as a province to lose this election. We will be the first province to do that,” he said.
“So let us not allow that to happen, let us convince everyone to come and vote for our party.”
