ZB Financial Holdings has opened an innovation hub to support its digital transformation goals and establish itself as a top financial technology institution.

The hub, One Digital ZB, will focus on creating a digital platform for banking, insurance and investments, is intended to incubate the bank’s business, as well as driving ideation, prototyping and commercialisation of new products and services.

Speaking at the launch, Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Minister, Professor Amon Murwira, hailed the bank for complementing the Government’s efforts.

“Well done to ZBFH, this is exactly what we are actively implementing as Government, a Heritage-based Education 5.0.

“This means we are looking at effective teaching and deep learning, research and development and innovation by our own people.

“Zimbabwe can only rise if we learn to think and provide homemade solutions,” said Prof Murwira.

ZBFH group chief executive, Shepherd Fungura, said they are driven by a passion to make their customers happy.

“Our primary focus is on customer centricity. Everything we do is for the benefit of the customer.

“We want to be a leading digital firm grounded on a performance driven culture and sustainability.

“The ZB Innovation Hub is instrumental, not only in exploring and providing solutions to customer pain points, but also in engineering brands for high business performance,” said Fungura.

ZB has in recent years launched digital initiatives, which include My ZBApp, MyZB Smile Zone, ZB Intellique (QMS) and improved internet banking.
