ZC names squad for once-off Test against Ireland

ZIMBABWE Cricket (ZC) has named a 15-member squad for their one-off Test match against Ireland later in the month.

The match is scheduled for 25-29 July at Stormont in Belfast. It will be Zimbabwe’s first-ever Test match against Ireland.

Zimbabwe’s squad for the tour includes four uncapped players in Clive Madande, Brian Bennett, Joylord Gumbie and Johnathan Campbell. The Chevrons will be captained by veteran Craig Ervine with Sean Williams, Tendai Chatara, Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava providing the team with much-needed experience.

The forthcoming tour will be Zimbabwe’s first Test match since their two-match series at home to the West Indies in February last year. The Chevrons lost that series 1-0 with the other game ending as a draw.

Craig Ervine (captain), Brian Bennett, Johnathan Campbell, Tendai Chatara, Tanaka Chivanga, Joylord Gumbie, Roy Kaia, Clive Madande, Wellington Masakadza, Prince Masvaure, Blessing Muzarabani, Dion Myers, Richard Ngarava, Victor Nyauchi, Sean Williams.
