AMBITIOUS Pacific Breeze Zifa Southern Region Division One side Zebra Revolution has appointed Dalubuhle Sibanda as the club’s chief executive officer.
The development was made public by the outfit yesterday.
“We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Dalubuhle Sibanda as our new chief executive officer,” publicised Zebra Revolution on Monday through their social media pages.
With a dynamic background in media operations, sports management and entertainment, Sibanda is expected to bring what the club describes as the ideal blend of strategic vision and hands on experience to the helm.
Sibanda outlined his vision and the targets he has set for the club.
“Taking the helm as chief executive officer of Zebra Revolution was a deeply personal mission. My vision is to transform this club into a premier home-grown football institution one that doesn’t just play in Bulawayo but belongs to Bulawayo. I am bringing a signature innovative management style to the game, treating football with the professional rigour of a high-level corporate operation while keeping our local roots at the core of everything we do,” he said.
He said he believes that a modern club must develop the “whole” person.
“The scholar aspect is a non-negotiable part of my strategy. We are grooming young men to be as sharp in the classroom as they are on the ball. By prioritising education, we are building intelligent, disciplined decision-makers who are prepared for life both on and off the pitch,” said Sibanda.
He said their blueprint finds its real world success in the country’s footballer of the moment, Mongameli Tshuma, a player who was developed by Mpumelelo FC before being exposed at Zebra Revolution and later moving to Hwange and most recently Highlanders.
Tshuma is currently with the Warriors in Botswana for the Mukuru Four Nations Tournament.
“If you want to see what our system is capable of, look no further than the man of the moment, Mongameli Tshuma. His pathway through our ranks from a developmental prospect to a first-team stand-out for club and country is the gold standard.
“My immediate priority is replicating that success. I am working on refining our internal systems so that every junior player sees a clear, structured route to the top. Mongameli isn’t just a success story, he is the blueprint we are now scaling across the entire institution to produce more exemplary players who wear the badge with pride,” Sibanda said, adding that they will not be looking for shortcuts.
“My goal is to build an organic fan base — a community of supporters who grow with us because they see themselves reflected in our players and our values. We want the stands to be filled with people who believe in the ‘Zebra’ way.
“The work that has been done laid a solid foundation, and now we are building upward. I am setting a clear target: through professionalised administration and data driven elite talent development, we are aiming for promotion within the next three years.
“We are here to prove that a home-grown club, managed with innovation and integrity, can reach the pinnacle of Zimbabwean football. The revolution is officially underway.”
Meanwhile, in the Pacific Breeze Zifa Southern Region Division One League Week Two fixtures played over the weekend, Aqua Stars played out a goalless draw, while Zebra Revolution suffered a 1-0 defeat to Blackrock.
