Head coach, Gaoletmoo Ronaldoh, was oozing with confidence that her Zebra Queens could overturn the deficit and surprise their hosts.
Ronaldoh said they have worked on the mistakes from the first leg in Gaborone.
Botswana played two friendly international matches against the North West University of South Africa women’s team in Mafikeng and convincingly won 9-0. They then engaged a squad of Botswana male musicians and won 7-0.
Ronaldoh said she was impressed with the performance of her team in the two friendly matches saying she noted some improvements in the way they applied themselves.
She said there was better discipline in their defending and attacking when compared to their performance against the Mighty Warriors.
“We have come to fulfil the second leg and we are promising Zimbabweans to come in their numbers to witness carpet soccer,” said the Zebra Queens coach.
“I have brought the same squad that took part in first leg and we will stick to the same starting line-up.” The Botswana gaffer indicated she was confident her charges could deliver on the big occasion.
She believes her players suffered under pressure, playing before their home fans, and they would be able to express themselves better away from home.
“Our captain Bonang Bebeto who plays for Inline Academy here in Zimbabwe has inside information that will help us in terms of tactical planning,” said Ronaldoh.
She revealed she was worried that the match will be played on an artificial surface on Sunday.
Botswana skipper, Bebeto, was also bubbling with confidence about their chances of shocking the Mighty Warriors.
She said they had looked at their mistakes from the first leg defeat and tried to correct them ahead of Sunday’s showdown.
“The two friendly matches we played against North West University in South Africa and one at home gave our coaches an insight on the weak areas ahead of the second leg,” Bebeto said.
Botswana will pin their hopes on the inspirational Bebeto, goalkeeper Peggy Segokgo, Thuso Lesaane, winger Thato Ramafifi and Lebogang Seterekes to cause a major upset in the showdown.
