Zero Suppliers, Nestle Zim to co-sponsor primary schools athletics champs

LEADING Bulawayo bookseller, Zero Suppliers will co-sponsor the Bulawayo Province and Matabeleland South primary schools track and field championships with Nestle Zimbabwe.

The competition begins at White City Stadium in Bulawayo and Pelandaba Stadium in Gwanda today and will end tomorrow.

Clemence Kunzekweguta, of Zero Suppliers said he was happy to come on board and support future stars.

He said he would weigh in with the trophy to be handed over to the eventual winners.

“My company will come up with the trophy for the winners of the inter-district championships. Children at this level is where the talent is and we’re doing this as part of our corporate social responsibility programme,” said the businessman whose company has been supporting sports development in the Matabeleland provinces for over 15 years.

Njabulo Bango, the Bulawayo National Association of Primary School Heads chairperson expressed gratitude to their sponsors.

“We’re happy with the support from Nestle Zimbabwe who have come up with medals for individual athletes. Zero Suppliers have also boosted morale going into the event with the trophy to be won by the overall winners and 300 T-shirts. We’re grateful to both for their unwavering support.

“As we speak there is a technical meeting at White City Stadium on the physical education competition, heats and long distances. We’re looking forward to a good event. Preparations have gone well,” said Bango.
