ZESA Holdings has assured the nation of stable electricity supply during the festive season, raising hopes of minimal load-shedding.
In a statement, ZESA stakeholder relations general manager, Dr George Manyaya, attributed the improved festive season outlook to increased domestic generation, additional imports and reduced industrial demand during the holidays.
“We project a stable power supply environment this December, with minimal system constraints and load management,” said Dr Manyaya.
“This positive outlook is largely due to anticipated improved plant availability at Hwange Power Station Stages 1 and 2 and Kariba Power Station, supported by supplies from Independent Power Producers.”
He added that imports from the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP) and seasonal industrial slowdowns would further ease pressure on the grid.
“These efforts are expected to reduce the supply shortfall, leading to minimal load shedding during the festive period,” Dr Manyaya said.
