Zesa Bulawayo win ZITF Ingwebu Tug of War

Zesa Bulawayo men’s team won the Ingwebu Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Tug of War National Championships at the ZITF Main Arena yesterday

THERE was a winner this time around in the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Ingwebu Tug of War National Championships men’s category with Zesa Bulawayo overcoming Exide 2-1 in the final at the ZITF Main Arena yesterday.

Last year, the men’s section was not completed due to disagreements at the semi-final stage but there was none of that this year.

It was a close encounter with Exide taking the first pull only for Zesa Bulawayo to fight back to win. To make it to the final, Zesa Bulawayo overpowered Delta Beverages Bulawayo 2-0 in the semi-finals while Exide saw off FBC 2-1 in the other last four clash. FBC settled for third spot after a 2-1 victory over Delta Beverages.

For their sweat, Zesa Bulawayo took home $1 500, 12 gold medals and 10 T-shirts, Exide pocketed $1 000 accompanied by 12 silver medals and a 10 T-shirts. FBC got a reward of $700, 12 bronze medals while $200 went the way of Delta Beverages.

In what was a remarkable day for Zesa teams, their women’s side claimed the women’s title with a 2-1 triumph over last year’s winners, Bulawayo City Council. Ingwebu took third spot with a 2-0 success over Zesa Harare.

Zesa Bulawayo women were rewarded with $800 which came with 12 gold medals and 10 T-shirts, BCC took away $600, 12 silver medals and 10 T-shirts. Ingwebu pocketed $400 with $200 given to Zesa Harare.

Ingwebu Beverages, sales, marketing and corporate affairs manager, Nkosana Prince Ndlovu handed out prizes to the victorious teams.
