Zimbabwe Ex-Combatants (Zexcom) convened an Annual General Meeting over the weekend at the Zanu-PF Headquarters which saw a new 15-member board constituting members from all provinces being elected.
This development was revealed by the company’s secretary for Harare province, Cde Patrick Pandiwa Machingura.
Cde Machingura told The Herald that what was resolved at the meeting will be forwarded to Vice President Kembo Mohadi’s office to speed up the organisation’s rehabilitation process.
“The AGM went on very well. We elected a new 15-member board with members coming from all the provinces.
“We are preparing our minutes for the meeting so that we take them up with Vice President Mohadi so that we get our company up and running again,” he said.
He added that the company is going to employ highly qualified personnel who will play a crucial role in making sure there is accountability and transparency.
Cde Machingura highlighted that plans to introduce a new company constitution were underway as it will provide a guideline on how to engage the agriculture, industry and mining sectors as the company has interests in these areas.
The meeting also resolved to thank the New Dispensation led by President Mnangagwa for extending a helping hand so that the company is up and running again.
