“We applaud Zanu-PF for their indigenisation programme in particular the 10 percent ownership and profit sharing for workers in companies and corporate.
“ZFTU welcomes the holding of harmonised elections on July 31 as this gives an opportunity to the electorate to elect principled and dedicated leaders,” said Mr Tsvaringe.
Mr Tsvaringe urged workers to vote for leaders who would deliver and save the nation from the machinations of erstwhile colonisers.
He added that the former colonisers are manifesting themselves through their cronies purporting to save the nation from economic meltdown which was caused by sanctions they called for.
“The democratisation of labour laws and provision of labour rights as enshrined in the new constitution are different from the archaic Lancaster House constitution which denied workers these entitlements through the Voluntary National Employment Council which repudiated workers rights.
“Thus the ZCTU/MDC affiliated unions consolidated their stranglehold on these strategic institutions for political motives. Therefore, we say no to retrogression,” he said
