As the nation commemorates Heroes’ Day, musicians Tocky Vibes and Leonard Zhakata tonight perform at Club 007 in Glendale.
The two musicians said it was an opportunity for them to remember our heroes who fought for the liberation of the country.
Though Tocky Vibes has been left out of most dancehall shows in the capital, the musician has broken new ground and is reaching out to fans in other areas.
Unlike other dancehall musicians who have been performing in towns, the musician has taken a new approach.
His manager, Elvis Bokosha, said they were simply answering their fans’ calls.
“You have seen that for the past months we have been concentrating on international tours, but now we back home, fans have been calling us to reach them in different areas,” he said.
Bokosha said they were taking their new album “Toti Toti” to their fans.
“We are trying to take a different approach though we are still doing dancehall. We have not abandoned dancehall riddims,” he said.
“Tonight’s show will be an event to remember because we are celebrating a very important day in the history of the country,” he said.
Songs such as “Mhai”, “Ita Undide”, “Hande Toki”, “Usarara Muka” and “Ndini Ndinorira” are among crowd’s favourites.
Zhakata’s camp promised to give their best at the show.
A lot is expected from the musician and he is likely to belt out most of his yesteryear hits such as “Upenyu Mutoro” and “Mugove” among others.
Whenever he stages a show the musician gives his best. The show is expected to attract a large crowd as people celebrate Heroes’ Day.
