THE Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) has initiated a promising collaboration with the Pakistan Embassy, paving the way for mutually beneficial football development opportunities.
Zifa CEO, Yvonne Manwa, recently held a meeting with the Ambassador of Pakistan, Mr Murad Baseer.
According to Zifa the meeting fostered a spirit of collaboration and explored potential synergies that could benefit both Zimbabwean and Pakistani football.
The discussion centred on advancing football ties between the two nations, with a particular focus on opportunities for ZIFA in Sialkot, Pakistan. Known globally for its expertise in manufacturing and exporting a diverse range of goods including sports equipment, leather products, textiles, and musical instruments Sialkot offers valuable resources that could support Zimbabwean football’s development goals. Both parties expressed enthusiasm for exploring these resources to further strengthen football in Zimbabwe. The Pakistan Embassy’s commitment to football in Zimbabwe is not new. In the past, it has generously donated footballs to local clubs, including Dynamos Football Club, demonstrating a sustained dedication to supporting the sport within Zimbabwe. Zifa deeply appreciates these ongoing contributions and is optimistic about future collaborations.
“The Zimbabwe Football Association remains committed to fostering international partnerships that will enhance football development, elevate standards, and build lasting relationships. This dialogue with the Pakistan Embassy marks another positive step towards these objectives,” said Manwa.
