The team, dubbed a high performance committee, will also analyse teams with a view of advising on ways for improved performances.
The team is led by Zifa board member competitions Benedict Moyo and other members include former national team coach and now Zimbabwe Saints chairman Gibson Homela, Aces Academy director Mark Duvillard, former Warriors defender Charles Sibanda, Nelson Matongorere the Zifa technical director and Bhekimpilo Nyoni in his capacity as the chairman of the Zimbabwe Soccer Coaches Association.
“The committee will be travelling as an advance party ahead of the Warriors games and in the process will also be on an espionage mission,” said the Zifa communications manager Nicky Moyo-Dlamini.
Moyo-Dlamini declined to shed light on the criteria used to select the committee and on where Zifa would get funding for the committee to travel for its mission given the association’s perennial and predictable financial woes.
However, most members of the committee have a proven track record.
Moyo is one of the most qualified coaches in the land and played for Zisco and the national Under-23 teams.
Sibanda had a distinguished career as a no nonsense central defender at Caps United and the Warriors before coaching clubs like Air Zimbabwe. He nurtured several players who include Richard Choruma, Hubert Munjanja and Benjani Mwaruwari who he had moved with from the University of Zimbabwe.
Matongorere rose from the ranks of the coaches association to land a national Under-20 coach post at the turn of the century with a crop of players that dominated Cosafa Championships.
Nyoni has good coaching qualifications and has been in charge of a soccer academy in Harare.
Homela is a living soccer legend who played for the Warriors for almost 15 years and distinguished himself as one of the most decorated players at Zimbabwe Saints.
A Cosafa Senior Challenge winner in 2000 as Warriors head of coaching department, the highly qualified former Zimbabwe defender and striker, deserves a role as he has a good eye for talent.
Duvillard needs no introduction as his Aces Academy has grown to be the envy of many, producing well grounded players in the mould of Knowledge Musona, Walter Musona and Khama Billiat.
