ZIFA Bulawayo Metropolitan Province will hold its annual general meeting at the YWCA offices to discuss their plans for the 2016 season this morning. Sixteen clubs from Division Two Soccer League and an equal number from Division Three Soccer League are expected to send two representatives each.
Acting provincial boss, Francis Ntutha confirmed that his province will hold the meeting which comes a few weeks after the untimely death of its chairman Washington Chimanda.
“The agenda is really unchanged from our last annual general meeting save for item eight which had to do with the draft rules and regulations. Delegates’ credentials will be verified to make sure all those attending the meeting are bonafide members of the clubs that they represent,” said Ntutha.
He will present the chairman’s report which is expected to include the kickoff date for the 2016 football season. The league experienced very few disciplinary cases last season and today’s meeting should sail through peacefully.
The Zifa Bulawayo Metropolitan Province also prides itself with producing teams that have gone on to hold fort not only in Division One but even in the Premiership.
Tsholotsho came from the province and made their way into the country’s highest league and there is now Bulawayo City who are set to make their Premiership debut this season.
Winners of the 2015 Division Two Soccer League season Talen Vision and runners-up Highlanders will not attend the meeting as they have been promoted into the regional tier.
