Zifa mark Fair Play Week

Sports Reporter
ZIFA have joined the football family in commemorating the 18th annual Fifa Fair Play Week. The international football body has designated September 1-9 as days to raise that awareness. Club captains are expected to read declarations of their commitment to Fair Play before Premiership games.

Even lower division teams are expected to do the same.
Zifa chief executive officer Jonathan Mashingaidze advised all affiliates this week to be involved in the promotion. He said these would be on and off the field.

“The Zimbabwe Football Association, as a member of the global family of football, has invited all affiliates to join the global football family in celebrating Fifa Fair Play days between September 1-9. We shall work closely with all affiliates in celebrating these important days,” said Mashingaidze on the association’s website.

Fair Play should be practised all year round as it is the heart and soul of the game.
