THE Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Simba Bhora following their hard-fought 1-0 away victory over Eswatini’s Nsingizini Hotspurs in the first leg of their continental campaign.

The match, played last Sunday at Obedi Itan Chilume Stadium in Francistown, Botswana, marked a historic moment for Simba Bhora, who are representing Zimbabwe in CAF interclub competitions for the first time.

In a statement issued by ZIFA, Association President Nqobile Magwizi described the win as “more than just a result on the pitch,” saying it symbolises national pride and the resilience of Zimbabwean football.

“This achievement is more than just a win on the pitch. It is a proud moment for our country, as Simba Bhora flies the Zimbabwean flag high in continental football,” said Magwizi.

With the crucial return leg set for this coming Sunday, the ZIFA President reaffirmed the Association’s full support for the team and urged the nation to stand united behind Simba Bhora.

“Every Zimbabwean is united in rallying behind you, urging you on to secure qualification into the next round. The Association believes that with focus, determination, and collective spirit, Simba Bhora will once again rise to the occasion,” he added.

Magwizi also took time to personally commend the players, technical team, and club leadership for their passion and dedication, noting that their performance is an inspiration to young footballers across Zimbabwe.

“Your journey inspires countless young footballers across our nation and strengthens the vision we have for the future of our game. Play with courage, play with pride, and know that you carry the hopes of a nation with you.”
