THE ZIFA Southern Region Division One League enters Round 11 tomorrow, with log leaders Bulawayo Chiefs set to host army side Imbizo at Chiefs Village.
Bulawayo Chiefs, a former Premier Soccer League (PSL) outfit, reclaimed top spot on the log after a goalless draw away to Victoria Falls City Herentals in the resort town last weekend.
Now under the guidance of the well-travelled John Nyikadzino, the Chiefs are tied on 20 points with Hwange but lead the standings thanks to a superior goal difference of +15. Hwange, who were held to a 1–1 draw by Bulawayo Warriors, sit second with a goal difference of +11 after 10 rounds.
This weekend, the coal miners will travel to Bulawayo to face Bossio90 at White City Stadium. In their Week Nine fixture, Hwange were also held to a 1–1 draw by Eagle Life — marking their second stalemate of the season.
Third-placed Nkayi United, who have impressed so far, will be on the road to face Nust. In their previous outing, Nkayi United edged visiting Talen Vision 1-0 to take their points tally to 19. They are level on points with Casmyn and Black Rock.
Casmyn head into the weekend buoyed by a 2–0 home win over Ajax Hotspurs Movers.
Hwange-based Black Rock, under the stewardship of former Warriors, Monomotapa, and Highlanders midfield maestro Mthulisi Maphosa, have made a strong impression in their debut campaign. Maphosa has guided the youthful side to joint third place in a short space of time, earning plaudits for his leadership.
Elsewhere, Talen Vision will take on Eagle Life at White City Stadium, while Zebra Revolution welcome Plumtree-based Mainline at the White City B Arena.
Megawatt FC will lock horns with Jordan Sinnot at Hwange’s Chakona Ground, while Bulawayo City will look to make home advantage count when they face Victoria Falls City Herentals.
