‘Zim always ready to engage EU’

In an interview yesterday, the Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Joey Bimha, said Government was yet to receive communication from the EU on the resumption of dialogue. “As you know the announcement was made last week and we are yet to receive the letter. However, we have always been ready for re-engagement but at the end of the day what we want is for the process to lead to the removal of sanctions,” he said.
Announcing the softening of the sanctions regime last week EU ambassador to Zimbabwe Aldo Dell’Ariccia said the EU will officially inform President Mugabe in writing.
