Zim blogger reaches 1 million likes on Facebook post

A Harare-based blogger has notched a milestone on the internet after his Facebook post reached over 1 million likes in a fortnight.

Nyasha Zimunya shared the video of a man with a condition that makes it difficult for him to walk.

The man does not stand, instead he rolls and rolling is his only way to move from one point to the next.

In an interview, Zimunya said he shared the video reminding people to be grateful for some things they take for granted.

“The post is about telling people to be thankful for the gift of life and appreciate small things they have no matter the situation,” he said.

Zimunya has become the first Zimbabwean based blogger to reach 1million likes on a Facebook post.

Research shows that no one in Zimbabwe has reached 1 million likes on a Facebook post, including popular socialites like Tyra Chikotyo popularly known as ‘Madam boss’, Felistas Murata popularly known as ‘Mai Titi’ among others.

On Facebook, Madam Boss has over 1 million followers while her competitor Mai Titi has over 912 100.
Zimunya added that he has monetised his social media in more companies.

“Driven by passion to maximise the potential in entrepreneurs, I am into social media marketing through my Facebook page.

“I have scaled the ladder in Zimbabwe’s corporate space and continue to be a trailblazer in my field evidenced by various digital marketing keynote brand partnership invitation received,” he said.

Zimunya’s page has really taken off and it has become the main steam for many people who want to advertise.

Recently, he reached 100 000 followers on Facebook.

Zimunya is known for writing online Shona novels. He created a room for the visually impaired through audio books.

Zimunya has written three novels which are the most wanted, temptations, secret agent and currently he is doing an audio book titled ‘Mazai Emheni’.
