Zim Cricket expected to ring changes

Jeffrey Murimbechi Sports Correspondent
DRASTIC changes are expected in Zimbabwe Cricket structures over the next 10 months after the Cricket Committee sat down for a five-hour meeting on Monday evening. Early indications show that the changes will centre on national teams, domestic structures and development. The meeting was standard protocol, normally after an international tour or World Cup campaign, but this time it comes against a background where the ship has been rocked to the core.

Dismal performances from the Under-19 national team and the senior side at the Twenty20 World Cup were under review.
“We felt that the performances were dismal and there are some recommendations from the technical team and other stakeholders because we feel that things should not go on as usual.

“We feel that we have to inject new blood into the national teams, for the sake of continuity. For the next 10 months all efforts will be focused on the 2015 World Cup project in Australia,” said a member of the committee.
