SPECIAL Olympics Zimbabwe have sent three representatives to this year’s Special Olympics, Macau Golf International (Masters), in China.
The tournament started on Monday and will end this Sunday. The trio of Munyaradzi Musariri, Viren Metha and John Donking left the country on Sunday and will join scores of players from 18 other participating countries.
Zimbabwe are debutants at the event that has been running from 2012 when it started with eight teams.
The Special Olympics athletes will participate in level one, two or level five.
The difference is that level one and two are for beginners and level five is for the expert golfers.
Level one and two is to groom Special Olympics teams from the Asia Pacific region and competing against each other in their basic golf skills.
Two players per flight play rounds of nine-holes and, of course, with a coach and their guardian player.
Three-times Special Olympics Golf Champion, Thomas Lugg from South Africa, is again in Macau this year.
