SOUTH AFRICA-based Zimbabwean model-cum-fashion designer and entrepreneur, Aisha DeBeer will this July host a fashion designers expo in Bulawayo with the hope of raising funds for cancer patients in the city.
The expo is scheduled to be held at the Nesbitt Castle on 16 July, where DeBeer is calling all fashion designers in Zimbabwe to attend.
“We are excited to introduce the Fashion Designers Expo Zimbabwe in Bulawayo this year. It is the first of many designer expos to come. Our platform is targeting young and talented fashion designers from around Zimbabwe and clothing stores to showcase their brands and collections. Their items will not only be exhibited but will also be for sale,” she said. She said the aim of the event is to bring more brands to the fashion forefront, and provide them with the exposure they need and deserve, as well as entertain Bulawayo with the wide variety of styles and trends.
DeBeer also mentioned she hoped on roping in motivational speakers on the project as well.
“We will be looking at getting guest speakers to add in some inspirational words. Along with that we will be having some dancers and singers to add some spice to the runway and to top it all off, runway models will lead the cause,” she said.
DeBeer also noted that they had so far received confirmation from international brands that will be exhibiting at the expo.
“So far we have confirmed brands such as POLO USA and Aiish inspired Clothing that will be on the runway. As time goes on we will be adding some new names and exciting stuff to our line-up,” she said.
