Zim films nominated for Nollywood awards

which is dominantly a preserve of Nigerian films.
“Zambezi News, which was shown on the closing night of the 14th Zimbabwe International Film Festival 2011, stars poet Outspoken and Sam “Comrade Fatso” Monroe of the Chabvondoka fame. On the other hand, the imaginative Sex in City,  explores the sexual behaviour of Zimbabweans and insightful glimpse of life on the fast lane.

According to Nigerian Entertainment Today, the Nigerian movie industry otherwise known as Nollywood has for the past 12 months experienced a drastic improvement with its stories, acting and the details paid to the technicalities. The performance of most of the recently released movies in national and international competitions is a testimony to that.

Actors, Kate Henshaw, Adebayo Salami and Africa Magic television channel are up for awards while Governor of Kano State Rabiu Kwankwaso is up for the Distinguished Merit Award. The award is a brainchild of director producer Fidelis Duker. Below are the nominees and categories:
