Zim models for Beijing Expo

June 17 to 19.
Miss Zimbabwe Malaika Mushandu, Miss Tourism Zimbabwe Rumbidzai Mudzengerere, Miss Universe Zimbabwe Lisa Morgan and Nadia Gori, the Miss Talent, will be at China’s second biggest travel and tourism fete.
The tour is part of the package for winning in the Miss Zimbabwe 2011 pageant .
In an interview, Morgan said she was looking forward to touring China since it was her first time to visit the Asian country.
“Definitely, I am excited and looking forward to it.
“It’s like business with a twist of fun. I want to learn Chinese and be able to visit places of interest,” she said.

Ben Ncube, the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority representative in charge of China, Asia and the Pacific, said Zimbabwe has been taking part at the expo for a number of years now but this year promises to be a special one.

“Previously, we have been using our offices in China but in 2011 will be well represented by our beautiful models.
“We hope the tour will enhance their appreciation of international travel and tourism.

“We want them to learn about travel business as well as have fun.
“We expect the models to visit the Great Wall and other places of interest,” he said.

Zimbabwe International Travel and Tours facilitated the tour.
Last year, over 30 000 business travellers and consumers attended the BITE.
Zimbabwe, which has been dubbed “The World of Wonders”, is expected to be a huge attraction at the expo judging by the enthusiasm shown by the models to market the brand to the outside world.
