ZIMBABWE moved to third place after the second day of the ongoing Africa Amateur Golf Team Championship at the par 72 Limuru Country Club in Kiambu County, Kenya, yesterday.
The team had registered a total 225 points after the first day with golfers Visitor Mapwanya, David Amm, Tonderai Masunga and Robson Chinhoi carding 80, 76, 75 and 75 respectively to open the first round on fifth place.
The locals are a stroke behind joint leaders host Kenya and South Africa.
It was during the second round that the locals improved as they carded 71, 75, 75 and 71 for a total 218 yesterday.
Zimbabwe are six points clear of Uganda who are sitting on fourth place while Zambia complete the top five.
The Africa team golf championship has attracted three nations with the best three scores being considered by the organisers.
