ZIMBABWE-Russia relations have continued to grow through mutually beneficial investments and shared prosperity, Acting Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Mangaliso Ndlovu has said.

Speaking at the Russia Day in Harare this afternoon, Minister Ndlovu said Zimbabwe will continue to deepen and entrench its relations with like-minded countries like Russia

President Mnangagwa recently visited Moscow to further solidify this enduring partnership, paving the way for expanded cooperation in key sectors such as mining, agriculture, energy, education and defence.

“Let us reaffirm our unwavering commitment to this enduring partnership, one grounded in mutual respect, shared struggle, and common purpose,” he said.

Under the leadership of President Mnangagwa, the Second Republic has prioritised the development of enhanced strategic partnerships as a pillar of its international engagement, guided by the Doctrine of Foreign Relations and International Cooperation.

“This doctrine affirms our unwavering commitment to building a sustainable, just, free, and democratic society, one in which all citizens can lead prosperous and fulfilling lives. It not only defines Zimbabwe’s global outlook but also reinforces the foundational principles that unite us with strategic partners like the Russian Federation,” he emphasised.

Minister Ndlovu said Russia Day marks not only the birth of the modern Russian state, but also the enduring sovereignty, resilience, and pride of the Russian people.
