ZIMBABWE is set to host the sixth Transform Africa Summit (TAS) which is expected to attract more than 3000 delegates.
It will give room to engage in the digital transformation of the continent across multiple sectors.
It will be held in Victoria Falls from April 26-28.
TAS is the leading Africa technology and digital event organised by Smart Africa.
It gathers over 3 000 delegates from more than 100 countries.
They make core decisions for Africa’s socio-economic development, through ICT.
It will run under the theme “Connect, Transform and Innovate.”
Focus will be on regulation and policy, digital infrastructure financing, capacity building and skills development and digital continental trade, among other key aspects.
Beyond the continent, delegates from Estonia, Germany, Korea, Saudi Arabia and Serbia are expected to attend the summit.
ICT, Postal and Courier Services Minister, Jenfan Muswere said as a member of Smart Africa, Zimbabwe was committed to ensuring that technology changes the lives of all citizens.
“We are cognisant that this cannot be done alone and, therefore, we are extremely pleased to welcome the Smart Africa Alliance family to Zimbabwe’s prime resort town of Victoria Falls.
“This is the first time the Transform Africa Summit will be held outside Rwanda so as to harness its full potential on the African continent,” he said.
He said the summit would be open to public participation in exhibitions and in the other 50 multiple discussion panels and roundtables lined up during the three-day ICT jamboree.
