Zim swimmers gear up for World Aquatics Championship

ZIMBABWEAN swimmers have been working hard as they prepare for the 20th edition of the World Aquatics Swimming Championships which begin tomorrow in Fukuoka, Japan.

The Zimbabwean team arrived in Japan on Wednesday and have begun their preparations ahead of the commencement of the global showpiece.

The competition is scheduled to end on 30 July and the Zimbabwean team is led by Lindsy Tudor Cole.

Zimbabwe Olympic Committee (ZOC) assisted the team with their airfares to travel to the Asian nation.

Team Zimbabwe is made up of Liam Davis (200m backstroke), Denilson Cyprianos (100m backstroke; 200m backstroke), Donata Katai (100m backstroke; 50m backstroke), and Paige Van Der Westhuizen (200m freestyle; 100m freestyle).

Some of the African nations that will be taking part in the championship are South Africa, Uganda and Zambia. – @brandon_malvin
