conference in Victoria Falls.
The bi-annual event is aimed at facilitating the development and implementation of a harmonised, risk-based regulatory framework for member states in Sadc.
The conference will run from December 6 to 9.
Zimbabwe’s hosting committee comprises the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, Insurance and Pensions Commission and the Securities Commission of Zimbabwe.
CISNA hosting chairman Mr Tafadzwa Chinamo, who is also SECZ chief executive, said preparations were at an advanced level.
He said the three-day event offered the hosts an opportunity to market the country to the conference participants who would be coming from all the represented Sadc countries.
The last conference was held in Swaziland in August.
“The bi-annual conference seeks to achieve CISNA’s vision through championing a process of collaboration, engagement and co-ordination between regional non-banking financial institutions and other important stakeholders.
“Zimbabwe’s CISNA members hosting committee member institutions chose Victoria Falls as a venue in a bid to showcase the country’s prime tourist attraction to the 100 plus regional delegates,” said Mr Chinamo.
CISNA is a Sadc body, which comprises the non-banking financial institution authorities – capital markets, collective investment schemes, insurance companies, retirement funds and providers of intermediary services in the Sadc.
It was established in 1998 and forms part of the trade, industry, finance and investment directorate within the Sadc with a vision to facilitate the development and implementation of a harmonised, risk-based regulatory framework for member states that would enable market growth and development.
It also aims at reducing the potential for systemic risk, informing and protecting consumers, mobilising capital flows and contributing to prosperity in the Sadc region.
