Zim XI get SA campaign underway

THE Zimbabwe XI cricket side coach, Douglas Hondo, believes reaching the latter stages of the Africa T20 Cup remains a realistic target. The 16-team Africa T20 tournament is being held in South Africa. Namibia, Zimbabwe and Kenya joined 13 local teams from the South African domestic league.

The tournament acts as a curtain-raiser to the start of the South African domestic league.

The Zimbabwe squad left on Wednesday with 13 players.

Mountaineers coach, Shepherd Makunura, is the assistant coach.

Zimbabwe were drawn in Group C alongside Kwazulu Natal Inland, Border and Boland.

They will open their campaign against Kwazulu Natal Inland today at Buffalo Park East London Stadium.

Zim Squad:

Peter Moor ( C), Kudzai Sauramba, Ainsley Ndlovu, Brian Chari, Kevin Kasuza, Innocent Kaia, Tinashe Kamunhukamwe, Tymicen Maruma, Nathan Waller , Neville Madziva, Rugare Magariro, Tinotenda Mutombodzi and Keith Jaure.
