Zima organisers optimistic

As the countdown to Zimbabwe Music Awards continues, organisers say they have finalised major aspects of the event,
The awards ceremony will be held at the Harare International Conference Centre on October 3.
Zima marketing and public relations executive Farai Chapotera said preparations are at an advanced stage. “Everything is almost in place now and some of the major attractions for the show in terms of performances are the return of Africa Revenge, Jah Prayzah, Soul Jah Love, Cynthia Mare,  Audius Mtawarira, Tehn Diamond, MMT, Sabastian Magacha and new comers Shingai Mangoma and Malimbah,  “We have strived to put together performances that will appeal to all audiences across the board. We will have a special guest appearance from Randall Abrahams of the South African Idols fame,” she said.

She said they are also going to have CEP South Africa who is set to give technical support to Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation for the live coverage of the show.
“In line with our partnership with CEP South Africa who are involved in the project management of the South African Music Awards and various other awards ceremonies, we will be receiving technical support crews from South Africa.

“This crew will be working closely with the ZBC crew in a skills transfer agreement that was put in place to ensure that the quality of the production is excellent not only for the audience in the auditorium but also for the viewers at home,” she said.

She said the crew will be bringing in support equipment to compliment ZBC equipment.  “We are extremely satisfied with the quality of equipment that our national broadcaster has especially the state of the art OB van which we will make use of on the night.

The equipment is already on its way to Zimbabwe and the crews will arrive on the September 27. Set up for the event will begin on September 28.” The event which will be a red carpet affair will see some artistes being dressed by local designers who are ready to take the platform to market their projects.
