This has forced the company’s financial manager and the club executive to hastily arrange a meeting meant to avert a looming player exodus.
Some of the players are already trying their luck at some Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clubs.
Just at the weekend two of the players – goalkeeper Evans Chipezeze and midfielder Tonderai Charles – turned out for Shabanie Mine in the Gweru Mayor’s Annual Charity Soccer Grand Tournament at Ascot Stadium.
Contacted for comment yesterday, team technical director Wonder Chaka said something was being done to pay the outstanding money.
“We owe the players something but I do not have the figure off hand but just like any other company we are facing financial challenges but we are working on something.
“The boys just have to understand the challenges but we still have them in our plans for next year and I will be travelling to Harare on Friday as we try to work out the best way forward,” he said.
Chaka said their plans were to pay the outstanding money before the end of this month but the position will be known by tomorrow.
